Jana is an east coast girl. Born and raised in eastern Pennsylvania, she began her journey west in 2008 when she moved to Indiana to attend Indiana Wesleyan University. There, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Youth Ministry. After graduating in 2012, she was soon married, and continued her journey to Colorado Springs almost immediately following, where she and her husband would be involved in a Ministry Apprenticeship Program at a local church for next 15 months.
During this apprenticeship, Jana was immersed in student ministry, primarily with middle-school age students. In this time she was able to mentor and disciple both students and leaders in their walk with Christ. As this apprenticeship moved toward its end, Jana felt that God was leading her toward a different form of ministry, so she began seeking other opportunities to serve the youth of the Colorado Springs community. During that process, God led her to Hope & Home.
“There is something so uniquely beautiful about a child getting to experience the healing power of relationship.”
Jana is currently working toward a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. When she isn’t working or studying, Jana can be found hiking or camping with her husband and trusty pup, Clementine, striking a pose in yoga class, or getting inspired by the Food Network or HGTV.
“There is something so uniquely beautiful about a child getting to experience the healing power of relationship, and this job allows me to join in that mission every day. I love being a part of an agency that mirrors the mission of the Church in caring for the least of these and providing loving families, not just houses, for children in need. I am blessed to get to take part in this journey and to support families giving their all to kids in need!”
