Home Supervisor – San Luis Valley

The Home Supervisor supports the clinical and programmatic activities of Hope & Home by working directly with licensed foster families as part of the Home Team. Home Supervisors embody the ANTE acronym in their work with families by being their ally, helping them navigate the system and their role as foster parents, being in a therapeutic, supportive role for families, and being the expert for them to rely on during their journey as foster parents. Home Supervisors aid the families in meeting the needs of the children placed in their care, with the goal of placement preservation. Hope & Home emphasizes importance on training, guidance, and support provided to foster families, which is accomplished directly through the Home Supervision Department.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Caseload Management:
    • Manage a caseload of foster families who provide placement to children removed from their home due to abuse and/or neglect
    • Complete at least monthly home visits ensuring compliance with Volume 7 Rules and Regulations and Love to Nurture parenting (in addition to all State, County, and Hope & Home requirements)
    • Build relationships with families to serve as an ally, navigator, therapist, and expert guiding them on their foster care journey
    • Conduct SAFE addendums and full facility checks at least annually for each foster home
    • Participate in professional team staffings and meetings for clients on caseload as needed
  • Home Team:
    • Participate as a member of the Home Team for all families
    • Work closely with Family Care Coordinators, Hope Workers, and Support Group Leaders to support families and children in the Hope & Home community
    • Co-facilitate support groups for foster families at least twice monthly
    • Participate in group supervision weekly within region and statewide monthly
  • Paperwork Compliance:
    • Complete monthly reports for families and children no more than 48 hours after home visits
    • Complete intake paperwork for children newly placed fully and timely
    • Monitor required documentation completion by families
    • Report all incidents and critical incidents to manager immediately
    • Complete all renewal documents, including education documents, with families
    • Participate in compliance meetings at least monthly with Family Care Coordinator
  • Events           
    • Participate in all Hope & Home events in the San Luis Valley for families and children as required and instructed by manager and Hope & Home leadership (generally 3-4 events per year)
    • Work at the annual Hope & Home Fashion Show fundraising event
  • Other:
    • Participate in weekly group supervision and individual supervision as scheduled with manager
    • Participate in required training annually, as specified by manager and director of education
    • Complete on-call duties as assigned by rotation
    • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in social or behavioral sciences
  • At least one year case management experience, 3+ years preferred
  • Driver’s License with good driving record, this position requires driving throughout the greater San Luis Valley area, including Alamosa, Rio Grande, Conejos, Costilla, and Saguache Counties

This role may be hired at either full time or part time.

Full Time Pay and Benefits: 

  • $45,000 per year
  • On-call stipend
  • Paid time off accruing immediately upon start of work and useable once accrued.
  • Paid holidays.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (eligible the first of the month following 60 full days of employment).
  • Enrollment in 401K after working at least one year and 1,000 hours, beginning the quarter following eligibility (must be 21 years of age to participate).
  • Company paid life insurance, with employee option to add additional coverage and long-term disability coverage (if working 20 or more hours per week).

Please Note: Hope & Home’s benefit package is contributory; that is, you are responsible for a portion of the premium for your benefits. A portion of the premium, up to a maximum per month, is contributed by Hope & Home. Your contributory cost is deducted from your paycheck. 

Part Time Pay and Benefits:

  • $21.63/hour
  • On-call stipend
  • Paid time off accruing immediately upon start of work and useable once accrued. 
  • Company paid life insurance, with employee option to add additional coverage and long-term disability coverage (if working 20 or more hours per week). 
  • Enrollment in 401K after working at least one year AND 1,000 hours, beginning the quarter following eligibility (must be 21 years of age to participate) 

Please Note: Hope & Home’s benefit package is contributory. An employee is responsible for a portion of the monthly premium automatically deducted from the employee’s paycheck.
