First, you will be connected with a Licensing Specialist, a professional whose entire job is to take you from the application all the way to certification.
Step 1
Get to Know Us
This initial meeting will include a tour of Hope & Home, an opportunity to meet your local support staff, and the chance to ask any questions you have about becoming a foster parent.
Step 2
Fill Out an Application
We do not charge an application fee, nor do we charge for your home study or training. Your only costs are $57.50 per person for fingerprinting, paid to an outside company. (And any out-of-state background check fees depending on the state.)
Step 3
Complete Your Training
100% online and always on-demand, Hope & Home training is just a few clicks away via “DaVinci,” our one-of-a-kind foster care education platform. Hope & Home is the only agency that offers 100% of your training online in the same place.
Your licensing specialist will keep you on track with reminders about paperwork you’ll need to complete and turn in. The sooner your paperwork is completed, the sooner you can begin the final step of getting certified.
Step 4
Complete a Home Study
Your home study will consist of a confidential series of in-depth interviews and an assessment of your home. This will be conducted by a specially trained expert on our staff and helps us match you with children who would be a good fit for your family.
Step 5
Finish the Licensing Process
Your Licensing Specialist will make sure that everything in your file is complete and correct. If you make it this far, congratulations are in order. You’re officially a Hope & Home foster parent!
Step 6
Answer the Phone and Welcome a Child!
It will be a member of our placement team calling about a potential child for you!
Once you say “yes,” that’s when you really get to see what people call “Hope & Home magic.” Our one-of-a-kind, four-person support team will spring into action helping you get settled and making sure you have everything you need to welcome your first placement.
